25 RAC trainers from the Colombian state’s job training institution SENA successfully participated in the technical training on the natural refrigeratn CO2. The event was organised by the Colombian NOU with the support of GIZ Proklima and UNDP.

Since 2018, SPODS supported the National Ozone Units of Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Grenada, Mexico, Paraguay and Venezuela on early actions to mitigate HFCs emissions. From feasibility analysis for national production of low GWP refrigerants and developing end-of-life treatment strategies to trainings on the safe use of natural refrigerants and communication campaigns, the partner countries contributed actively and with great motivation.

The Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP, within the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment) as designated National Focal Point of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the National Designated Authority (NDA) of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) for Thailand, has the main role to coordinate, support and work closely with key ministries and agencies to access and utilize both domestic and international measures, instruments and mechanisms to implement targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and build resilience. To guide any entities, ONEP is expected to contribute to the following outcomes: • Strengthened engagement and collaboration on climate action with a broad range of stakeholders including sector ministries, local institutions, international organizations and donors, private sector and civil society; • Consistent matching of national climate change priorities with appropriate domestic or international climate finance sources; and, • Improved alignment of policies, a better monitoring system of climate action and the mutualization of resources and co-benefits resulting from climate change actions. …
