03.12.2018 News Study Tour in Germany – a kick-off for a promising cooperation in the region
In late October almost 30 stakeholders from Latin America and the Caribbean participated in the trip in Germany. The study tour aimed at raising awareness of the climate impact of currently applied HCFC/ HFC refrigeration practices in the region and discussing natural refrigerant cooling solutions to assist selected countries to fulfill their HFC mitigation obligations under the Montreal Protocol.

At a side event held during the African Carbon Forum and attended by over 70 participants, GIZ Proklima and Perspectives Climate Group raised awareness on the importance of the cooling sector for both implementation of the Paris Agreement (PA) under the United Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) as well as the Kigali Amendment (KA) under the Montreal Protocol.

02.07.2018 News Successful webinar on split AC assessment study
Based on recently collected performance data of split-type air-condition (split ACs), the Cool Contributions fighting Climate Change (C4) project held two webinars on costs, energy and climate impact assessment of split ACs in Asia and Latin America in June and July. All together over 150 participants from government, private sector and the civil society took part in the two webinars and discussed the findings of the market study.
